Skoda has launched the new Superb Combi Estate for the Irish market. Based on the Superb Saloon famed for its unique TwinDoor boot system, the Superb Combi retains a modern yet distinctively up-market appearance while providing unrivalled luggage capacity and versatility. ![]() The new Skoda Superb Combi is the giant estate car version of the big saloon car. Entry prices are competitive, starting at €25,285 before delivery charges. This expands to 1,865 litres with the seats folded. The vast luggage area can combine clever luggage nets and sliding aluminium partitions to secure both bulky and loose loads. In addition to the well proven 1.9 TDI, 105bhp diesel engine, the Superb benefits from the latest common rail diesel technology in the form of 2.0 TDI 140bhp and 170bhp mated to either a 6-Speed manual or a 6-Speed automatic DSG transmission. The latest petrol powered TSI engine is also available for the Superb Combi Estate to deliver more power from lower emission 1.4 TSI, 125bhp and 1.8 TSI, 160bhp petrol engines. For those who venture off the beaten track, the Superb Combi can also be ordered with a 4x4 transmission. The Superb Combi is well equipped. The car comes as standard with dual-zone climate control, leather combination interiors, colour touch screen sound systems, BlueTooth phone connection and cruise control offered as standard from the middle of the range Ambition model. The top Elegance model comes with satellite navigation, adaptive bi-xenon lights and ‘park assist system' that will actually control the steering of the vehicle during tricky parallel parking manoeuvres. ESP (Electronic Stability Program) and seven airbags including a driver knee airbag are standard across the range. For what is a very big car, the Skoda Superb Combi pricing is keen. The entry price is from only €25,285 for the Superb Combi Comfort and just €29,865 (excluding delivery and related charges) for the highly equipped Elegance model both with the 1.4TSI, 125bhp engine. This is between €900 and €1,100 more than the price of the Superb Saloon model and offers lots more space for families or business use at a very competitive price |
